Spend a day at a rally school, go paragliding, canoeing or fishing - there are so many outdoor activities.

Take the time to enjoy the abundance of wildlife, flowers and birds, be absorbed by the fascinating history, myths and legends of Mid Wales. Imagine the life of past times, walk in the footsteps of Owain Glyndwr, visit Abbey Cwmhir where Llewelyn, Prince of Wales lies buried and experience the upstairs downstairs world of the award winning Judges' Lodgings at Presteigne. This small friendly town with its annual music festival was once the county town of Radnorshire, but each town has its own character. To the north is Knighton, on Offa's Dyke with Powys Observatory nearby where you can learn about the stars in countryside whose dark night skies show off their brilliance. Close by is New Radnor with 'Water break its neck' - a fine waterfall.

Hay on Wye is a must for all bookworms: its literary festival attracts many well-known writers and it boasts the world's largest second hand bookshop. Llandrindod Wells is a Victorian spa town. Come and take the waters and enjoy the fun of Victorian Week. Cyclists will want to visit the National Cycle Museum here. Lastly, to the west is Rhayader - gateway to the spectacular Elan Valley. Watch crystal glass being fashioned, then go and see the red kites feeding at Gigrin Farm. You
will never forget it.
